In a bid to tap the budding potential of school students in
athletics the 1st Inter-
Udalguri District School Atheletics Meet-2018 was organized here at
Tangla Stadium ground in
Udalguri district on Saturday. The event organized by
Tangla Sports Association was witnessed widespread participation of nearly 300 athletes from 25 different schools of
Udalguri district. The
sports competitions included Running Race,Long Jump,High Jump,Javelin,Discuss,Shotput Throw,
Rally among others were held for both Boys and Girls categories. The opening ceremony was attended by former Panery MLA,Kumud

Locals rescued a girl child from Tangla railway station on Thursday noon. The 14 year old girl was found loitering in the station.The girl child was later handed over to GRP police on Friday.The girl hails from Phulandar village under Dhulian PS in Murshidabad of West Bengal .
