Free Health Check Up Camp in Hojai

Hojai: A  free general health check-up camp was organised at Don Bosco High School in Hojai on Friday to Commemorate the World Health Day, Which is Observed on April 7 worldwide. The camp was organised in collaboration with Mercy Hospital, Nagaon for the entire school staff,students and their parents. 

A four member team consisting of one doctor and three nurse which included Dr. Supriyam Das (Physician), Sister Shiny, Sister Lima and Sister Helena conducted the tests, provided consultation for general ailments and prescribed medicines for the same.

The camp was inaugurated by Principal of the School Father Michael Bistis in the presence of the Team from Mercy Hospital, School Staff and Students at 9 AM in the morning.

Speaking on the Occasion,Dr. Supriyam Das, Physician,Mercy Hospital Said,"We are indeed happy being the part of this healthy initiative by the school. It is Our health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.  I thank Fr. Michael Bistis, the school staff and students for making this selfless event a  possible one."

 Sister Lima,Nurse, Mercy Hospital Said," Every Year We organise 7 to 8 camps in the remote areas, our objective is to reach to each section of the society.And,We provide free medicine's in each of the  camps, We Organise." She added.

Father Michael Bistis,Principal Don Bosco High School,Hojai Said," This Year the theme of the day was "Health For All". So, We decided to do something healthy so that society can avail the benefits, because Healthy life is a blessing of God. To keep the body healthy is our responsibility. The school is not only to inspire young minds in the journey of wisdom but also to inculcate social awareness for others." 

" We were able to gather our guardians along with their childrens to do something good for the society in which we live and serve. The outcome was good.", He added.

The camp continued till afternoon 1:00 PM. Hundred's of  School Students along with their Parents availed the health services.

Boy drowns

Body of 14 years old Sumit Baspor S/O Sambhu Baspor and resident of Harijan Colony rescued on Saturday Morning. Twenty-year-old boy brutally murdered

In a sensational incident, one Ramanand Bora (20) was killed by his neighbour at Dakhin Bidyanagar in Hojai on Friday night. As per information, neighbour Deepak Rajkhowa repeatedly stabbed Ramanand with a sharp weapon.
