3 held for legacy data forgery

Hojai: The Hojai police have arrested 3 people for using false documents to update NRC. Identified as Subhas Das, Raju Das and Hemanta Nath, they were arrested before sending to jail on Saturday acting on a complaint of using false legacy data to the NRC officials.

The police on Friday received a complaint from Ratan Das of Gobindapally  alleging that the trio have used his father’s legacy data to update NRC which came to light  during the ongoing family tree verification process.

Accordingly Police registered a case 234/18 started investigation and arrested the three persons namely Subash Das, his son Raju Das and his relative Hemanta Nath from Kamalpur in Kampur. A local court on Saturday  sent them to the jail.

In a sensational incident, one Ramanand Bora (20) was killed by his neighbour at Dakhin Bidyanagar in Hojai on Friday night. As per information, neighbour Deepak Rajkhowa repeatedly stabbed Ramanand with a sharp weapon.
