AJYCP hits streets in Margherita

MARGHERITA: Hundreds of people hit the streets in Margherita on Friday


outlining a slew of demands which they want to be fulfilled at an


earlier date.


Organized by AJYCP’s Margherita unit, the protesters thronged Segunbari


NH 38 Road shouting slogans in support of their demands.


More than 200 people took out the protest rally from North Margherita


Rangamancha and blocked the road for more than 2 hours shouting slogans


against Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, MLA Bhaskar Sharma alleging


that the duo have failed to address their grievances.


AJYCP’s Tinsukia leader Kanchan Bora said, “many areas including


Machangpani and Longgaon are on the brink of collapse because of soil


erosion of the Buri dehing river. But Bhaskar Sharma is least bothered.


The vital portion of the NH 38 in Margherita is in dilapidated


condition. Sarma remains silent. Is there a government?”


The protesters further demands step to rein in the illicit liquor


traders of Margherita, ensuring availability of drinking water in the


entire area.


Later, the sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the


Margherita SDO (Civil).
