Disrupting leopard killed, consumed in Namrup

NAMRUP:A section of people in a remote hamlet in Namrup killed a leopard hours after it killed a lady and hurt 3 others in a series of attack on Friday morning. Not only that after lynching, the villagers cut the animal into pieces in full view of the forest officials. Then they  claimed to have consumed it triggering widespread anger among the animal lovers.

These disturbing incidents took place in Majkopihuwa goan and Asomiya Gaon where the local villagers in large number chased the leopard after it killed Maikon Gogoi and injuring three others in s series of attacks in the morning.

The animal then was beaten up to death. A section of them cut it into pieces to vanished. Some of them later claimed to have consumer it which needs to be probed.

The reason why the leopard attacked people is not mentioned. A leopard won't just go on an attack spree. I would assume that these would have been either chance encounters or the leopard retaliating when provoked

Guwahati: Mixed reactions are pouring in from different quarters after the Mumbai police arrested Republic TV editor in chief Arnab Goswami in connection with a 2 year old case. People,  mostly, in social media have supported the arrest saying that the journalists are not above the law. Guwahati: Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is stable.  According to Guwahati Medical College Hospital authorities, the former CM who was rushed to ICU on Sunday midnight is properly responding to treatment.  Noninvasive ventilation system has been removed from him.  According to GMCH principal Gogoi is doing physiotherapy in the hospital and a team of doctors has been monitoring him.  His son and Kaliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi has arrived in the city of Guwahati and visited his father.  He told media that his father's condition was improving.
Guwahati: Altogether 42 illegal Bangladeshi intruders were pushed back to their neighbouring country on Monday months after they were detained in the various places. They were pushed back at Sutarkandi along the Indo-Bangadesh border. Guwahati: A piece of paper that has gone viral in social media has touched off a seismic wave of anger and acrimony among the media fraternity.    The unsigned piece of paper has details of cash transactions with some media houses and piece officers to safeguard the illegal coal trade.    Strangely enough,  no media houses in question has yet denied the allegations.    These news paper and news channel authorities have maintained studied silence over the allegation of the nefarious deal. Guwahati: In a tragic incident that sends no less shock waves across the state,  five of a family in Kokrajhar committed suicide on Sunday. The incident took place at Tulsibel in Gossaigaon where local resident Nirmal Paul along with his wife and three daughters were found hanging inside a room.   According to a section of local residents,  Paul was caught in debt trap. He has been facing tough time to run his family and borrowed a huge amount of money which they could not repay in time.
