National Integration Week in Namrup

National Integration Week, popularly known as Quami Ekta Week was observed in Namrup along with other parts of the country.

The week was observed in Namrup BVFCL CRPF ( Central Reserved Police Force ) Office  Campus  organised by BVFCL Management in association with CRPF C/171BN . 

It began with the  oath taking ceremony in the theme of  " Communal Harmony  in BVFCL Office to be followed by a plantation programme is held in CRPF Office Campus around more than  200 Sapling are planted. 

It was participated by Rohini Kanta Sarmah BVFCL Deputy General Manager (Human Resource) , Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee Chief Administrative Officer BVFCL , Chandan Milli  Namrup Station Senior Police Officer , Suren Gogoi  ( JCO)  President BVFCL , Bhupal Majumder  CRPF ( Officer Incharge) .  

On Monday Multi language Poem recitation Programme will be held in the theme of " Communal Harmony " among officials and Employees of BVFCL.

The Assam Government will confer Sukapha award to noted Tai scholar Bimal Borpatra Gohain on Saturday. Decade long potable water crisis no longer would put these villagers in dire straights. Sonowal formally opened water connectivity in Panisukia Bongaon near the Joyepur Reserve Forest on Sunday. In his address he said," when I came to know the acuate potable water crisis during the time of polls I promised to provide the villagers a solution which is permanent. A huge herd of wild elephants unleashed no less reign of terror in a vast rural area in Namrup on Tuesday forcing the forest authority to step in. Comprising around 16 full grown wild elephants, the herd managed to sneak into the rural areas of Joyepur in search of food on Monday night damaging, crops, fruits and vegetables till Tuesday. NAMRUP:Two back to back incidents have brewed no less trouble for the Namrup-based thermal power plant at a time when power shortage has been plauging the north east Indian state. The incidents in question took place in the thermal power replacement plant which BHEL started construction eight years back. The first setback for the ₹560 crore project took place in September where a ravaging fire broke out under mysterious circumstances. GUWAHATI:There seems to be no respite for Akhil who has been languishing in the Dibrugarh Central Jail since he was arrested under the National Security Act. The NSA Advisory Council on Saturday has confirmed his penalty under this Act which would make him bound to be in the jail for a period of one year. A huge herd of wild elephants unleashed no less reign of terror in Jeypore area in Namrup destroying a house on Friday.  Talking to Assam Times, local resident Bijoy Gowala, whose house was damaged said,”we came to see the elephants forcing us to flee from the house at around 6 in the evening. Later, we have seen that these animals have left the spot damaging our house.”
