Bengali body demands CBI probe

The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.

Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.

The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

Founder president of the All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) and noted writer Baneswar Basumatary is seriously ailing since few months. Basumatary,who is hailing from Koklabari of Baksa district has been ailing since few months. He is now senseless, passing days on bed. He was also one of the general secretary of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, an apex body of Bodo literary. Basumatary became president of the ABSU in 1967. A total six relief camps have been opended for the flood affected peoples in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts in last 48-hours as Gaurang, Champamati, Sankosh, Modati, Gurufela,Saralbhanga and Aie rivers are flowing above their danger levels on Tuesday. 56 villages are affected in the flash floods in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts with damaging 150 hectares of crops area.
