Bengali body demands CBI probe

The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.

Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.

The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

A high police officials from Chirang, Kokrajhar and Bongaigaon district meet was held at police guest house in Chirang district on Thursday. Kula Saikia, DGP (special branch) attended the meet and reviewed the law and order in the districts. Saikia held meeting with SPs of the lower Assam region. An elderly woman was murdered by her son-in-law at Samsingkila Salkonta village under Karigaon police outpost late last night in Kokrajhar district. The Chirang District Magistrate Binod Kumar Deka has imposed ban on the use of coloured and ordinary polythene bags within the district. He has issued this order today under section 144 CrPC for enforcing restriction on manufacture, store, distribute, sell and disposal made of virgine and recycled polythene bags, which are less than 50 microns in thickness.  The order further banned on suchets using plastic materials for storing, packaging and selling.
