Bengali body demands CBI probe

The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.

Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.

The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

At least six pieces of Sal logs were seized by forest official and nature lovers at Gongia River near Balanga bazaar late last night in Kokrajhar district. According to sources, logs were brought through river by smugglers late last night, but later seized by forest department and nature lover citizens.

Kokrajhar Madhav Deputy Commissioner Prasad Sarma inaugurated ceremonial distribution of mosquito net among flood affected villagers under Community Development Project (CDP) at a programme held at New Amguri in Kokrajhar district on Saturday. The first ever Indian Tchoukball Premier League, 2016 has been kicked off from Friday at Govt HS & MP school ground in Kokrajhar district. BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary inaugurated the league. He said it is a league of sporting of tchoukball. A total of eight states are participating the premier League, included Maharastra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Kerala, Haryana, Goa and Assam. Participants from Kickboxing Association of BTAD won four gold and two silver medals in the ongoing National Kickboxing championship being held at Rajib Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kerala. A body was recovered today at Amlaiguri jungle area under Salakati police outpost in Kokrajhar district.Body was identified as Sabaton Bibi,55;of Salakati.She went missing since August 19 last. Body brought to Kokrajhar for PM.
A joint team of Chirang Police & 7 Sikh Army apprehanded a KLO linkman in a search operation in the Sakati village, Basugaon in Chirang district. The person was identified as Abinash Ray (22), a resident of  of Srirampur village. One 8 mm pistol (handmade) with  live ammunition  was recovered from his possession.
