I-Day celebrated in Bhergaon sub-division

The 71st Independence Day of the country has been celebrated at various places in Bhergaon sub-division with gaiety.

At Kalaigaon: Ritottam Bora,AC,Udalguri hoisted the tricolor at Gandhi Bakori playgoound at Kalaigaon in presence of hundreds of people.On the occasion he paid homage to all who had sacrificed for the cause of India's freedom.He specially mentioned name of a few Freedom Fighters of Kalaigaon including late Pani Ram Das and Bongshidhar Sarma who had spend several years term in British prison.March Past and other cultural events were also organized.Three persons namely-Basundhar Deka, Lokeswar Deka.Saru Nath and two students namely Anjana Nath and Seema Sarma were felicitated for their excellence in respective fields.

At Bhergaon:At sub-divisional HQ Bhergaon DN Hazarika,ADC,Udalguri cum i/c SDO (Civil) hoisted the national flag at Bhergaon Uccha Bidyapith playground in presence of several thousand people.Eighteen numbers of contingents from schools,police and NGOs took part in the march past event to much delight of people present.On the occasion-Robin Gowala (social worker),Rupah Anand Hazarika,Gaurav Patowari,Dipankar Saha (meritorious students) and Taekwondo Master T.Sanchuma Narzary were felicitated for their excellent performance in social and academic fields.Jagadish Sarkar,Lwmsrao Daimari and Bonjar Daimari (BTC EMs);Maheswar Boro and Kamali Basumatari (MLAs);Nerson Boro Deputy Speaker,BTC Assembly also attended the ceremony.Earlier on August 14,various events namely-Freedom run,plantation of tree saplings, patriotic cycling,drawing and extempore speech competition,Kabadi and football matches were organized by the Bhergaon civil administration.

At Tangla:At commercial town Tangla,Lakhyajyoti Das,Circle Officer,Khoirabari Revenue Circle hoisted the national flag at Tangla HS school playground in presence of several thousand people.Seventeen numbers of contingents took part in the march past saluting the tricolor.In this event Arunodoi Academy,Tangla won first prize while UN Academy and Maharishi Vidya Mandir Tangla won second and third places respectively.The MVM,Tangla like the previous years celebrated I-Day in the school campus in the morning.Sanjeev Sarma,Principal MVM,Tangla hoisted the tricolor.
