The members of Udalguri District Journalists’ Union (UDJU) bade farewell to Sadhana Hojai, the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district at her office here at Udalguri today in a simple function.The Deputy Commissioner was felicitated by the members with a phulam gamocha,a packet of books and a citation on the occasion.The team was led by R Sapkota,Adviser, Jayanta Kumar Das,President,Dilip Kumar Baruah,Secretary and Rajendra Chouhan,Office secretary respectively of the scribes’ organization.DC Hojai in her speech,expressed her gratitude to all the scribes of the district for their co operation during her four years term in the chair of deputy commissioner of the district.She appealed to the scribes’ body to become people friendly,particularly in the remote border villages by highlighting their sufferings and woes so that the government could take up their problems to meet on priority level.Harakanta Hazarika,the Assistant Director of Sericulture department of the district also felicitated the outgoing deputy commissioner with an Eri Chadar on the occasion.She has been posted as the Principal Secretary of Dima Hasao Council at Haflong while Dilip Kumar Das will join as Deputy Commissioner at Udalguri.
