Huge help for tea growers

 Minister for Agriculture, Veterinary, etc., Shri Atul Bora distributed financial assistance among small tea growers of 19 Self Help Groups (SHGs ) of the district under the Assam Tea Cess Utilization Policy (Amendment) 2015 in a meeting held at the Conference Hall of Circuit House in Golaghat.

Khumtai MLA, Mrinal Saikia also distributed cheques among the beneficiaries at the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Bothra where the incentives were distributed for the procurement of agricultural inputs and for procurement of tea leaf carrying vehicles up to a maximum of Rs 3.50 lakh per group.

Speaking on the occasion, Bora said there was the need to increase awareness about various Government schemes among the people asked all the beneficiaries to put the incentives received to proper use. Saikia asked all small tea growers to maintain the quality of tea leaves produced by them.
