36 expelled

Altogether 36 students were expelled for taking unfair means in Monday’s mathematics  examination in the HSLC examination in Kokrajhar district.

The examination has been conducted in a strict discipline manner in the district of Kokrajhar at 25 centres.

Eleven students have been expelled at Kokrajhar- A centre at Government HS & MP school in Kokrajhar, 7 in Rupsi,7 in Debitala, 3 each in Silbari and Kachugaon centre,2 each in Kokrajhar-B and Kokrajhar-C centres and one each in Gaurang and Dotma centres in the district.

‘Examinations are conducted in a smooth manner as per guidelines recah from SEBA and higher authorities in the district’,said JP Brahma,IS Kokrajhar district circle.

Kokrajhar: A sea of humanity is seeing along the Samoka Irrigation sluice gate River bank to participate in the community fishing near Bishmuri in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. The community fishing saw like festivity since early morning. BTC executive member Rajiv Brahma has opened the Samoka Irrigation sluice gate in the morning and then people thronged at the River bank for fishing. KOKRAJHAR: Tarang Swrang Club, Taranguri defeated Kokrajhar Veteran Sports Club (KVSC) 2-0 in the final match of 7th edition Jatin Islary memorial running shield football tournament-2019 held on Sunday at Kokrajhar. ABMSU demands implementation Assam Accord

KOKRAJHAR: The All BTC Minority Students Union (ABMSU) has demanded proper implementation of the 6th Clause of the historic Assam Accord with letter and spirit. ABMSU also demands clarification of the terms 'indigenous' (Khilongia) which has been marked in the Assam Accord. Speaking to the media at Kokrajhar Press Club on Thursday, ABMSUB president Abu Sayed Anchari and secretary Nazrul Islam said that the people of the state wants properly implementation of the 6th Clause of the Assam Accord which was regarded as a 'raksha kabash' in the state. Serial blast victims cry for compensations

Facing poverty, mother sells own son

KOKRAJHAR: In a shocking incident, a mother sold her own two and six months old baby boy to a couple of Sarupetat due to severe poverty. The incident took place at Sasargaon village under Raniganja police outpost along the Kokrajhar and Dhubri border area.
