Poacher surrender in KNP

Balak Singh Teron, a dreaded poacher involved in the killing of rhinos in the Kaziranga National Park has surrendered before the forest department on 6th August. It is worth mentioning here that on the previous day another poacher named Lansingh Terang has also surrendered before the forest department.

According to sources these surrenders was the result of incessant efforts made by the forest officer Iqramul Mazid in association with local Karbi people and Burapahar forest based Natun Danga Eco Development Society. The surrendered poachers assure the forest department of their full co-operation in any operation against poachers.

ULFA cadre nabbed

A self styled Sergeant Major of the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) was arrested from Borjan Lakhibari area of Golaghat District on the night of 4th July. Acting on a tip off, a team of Police and CRPF led byNumal Mahatto, Additional Superintendent of Police arrested the ULFA cadre. Gandhigiri by Golaghat Traffic Police

Train derailed

Suspected maoists arrested in Golaghat

Indefinite economic blockade against Nagaland

The Golaghat unit of Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA) has begun indefinite economic blockade against Nagaland from today onwards at Rangajan area on NH-39.
