Food poisoning claims 1

A minor girl dead and dozen others fell ill after they consumed prasad served at a religious function in Udalguri district on Friday. The tragic incident took place in Kalaigaon area where a ten year old girl died early in the morning. At least 71 others have complained of stomach ace and vomitting hours after they consumed prasad.

The deceased was identified as Dipsikha Nath who died at the Mangaldai Civil Hospital. Talking to media, ADC DN Hazariaka said that the incident took place hours after they consumed prasad at the house of Harakanta Nath on Wednesday.

An unusual programme was arranged at Kalaigaon on July 5 by 'Durgat Kalyan Nyas' a Kalaigaon based NGO working for providing help to poor and needy people of the locality. Deaths of more wild jumbo calf in Udalguri district resented

The mysterious death of another male wild elephant calf in Udalguri district has drawn sharp criticism from the nature loving people of the district. This has been the case of fourth death in a row in just two months in the district. A python weighing 8 kg was rescued recently on July I by a few cultivators in the village Habibhanga under Kalaigaon Police Station.
