People of Kalaigaon have expressed satisfaction at the over all good performance of the students of various schools situated in the backward rural areas of Kalaigaon. In the recently declared AHSEC,SEBA and CBSE results. The Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Kalaigaon topped the list of success with 99 percent success in the CBSE class X examination and 97 percent success in class XII final examination. According to Madhab Sarma,Principal of the school, 76 percent students had passed in the first division He further said that 10 students had secured 94 percent marks in the class X examination (CGPA 9.8 ) which had been the best by the school since its establishment. On the other hand Pundarikasha Das,grand son of Pani Ram Das,the nonagenarian freedom fighter of Kalaigaon and a student of Maharishi Vidya Mandir,Mangaldai topped the list od success in Darrang and Udalguri districts with 10 CGPA.
Although situated in very backward rural areas,students of a few schools had done exceedingly well.In HSLC Bholabari HS topped the list with 100 percent success ( 36 out of 36 ) with letter marks in various subjects. Kalaigaon HS School also performed well this year. In the HSSLC (Arts),the success rate of the school was 85.6 percent. In the HSLC 4 students scored distinction marks while 20 students passed in first division. Nitiraj Deka of this School scored highest average marks ( 87 % ) with letters in all the subjects. Kandeswar Deka, Principal, Kalaigaon HS School expressed his satisfaction at the success of the students of the school.
Students of Bright Life English School too performed very well this year with 90 percent success in the HSLC examination. Neptune Baro of this school scored distinction marks with letters in all the subjects (87%). Other schools of Kalaigaon areas too performed well in the HSLC examination as mentioned below. Chengapathar HS (84%); Pachim Silpota HS ( 94% with two students scoring distinction marks).Besides,Kalaigaon Girls High School, Tengabari Janata Bidyapith HS,Sunjwrang HS etc too performed satisfactorily. Students of Kalaigaon Junior College performed better this year with overall 75 percent success rate.Arabinda Das,Principal of Kalaigaon Junior College told this correspondent that the college had been following a few long term action plan for better results and to create an educational atmosphere in the locality. He said that the college authority had decided to provide free education to 5 meritorious girls every year,passing in first division.
