Food poisoning claims 1

A minor girl dead and dozen others fell ill after they consumed prasad served at a religious function in Udalguri district on Friday. The tragic incident took place in Kalaigaon area where a ten year old girl died early in the morning. At least 71 others have complained of stomach ace and vomitting hours after they consumed prasad.

The deceased was identified as Dipsikha Nath who died at the Mangaldai Civil Hospital. Talking to media, ADC DN Hazariaka said that the incident took place hours after they consumed prasad at the house of Harakanta Nath on Wednesday.

Explosive recovered from train at Tangla

Acting on tip off about NDFB cadre carrying explosive material on a train.a joint team of troops from Borrengajuli Camp of 315 Field Regiment(KARGIL) and Assam police headed by T.R.Pegu SDPO,Bhergaon recovered 1Kg of explosive from Train No 769 up Intercity express at 1830hrs on 20 Feb 2010 at Tangla Railway Station. Acting on a tip off, troops from Barrongajuli Camp of 315 Field Regiment (KARGIL) arrested Bipul Ramsiary, NDFB 3rd Bn cadre from Tangla on February 8.The press release of 315 Field Regiment ( Kargil)says that Bipul Ramsiary was wanted in several cases of extortion and kidnappings in Udalguri District and had been actively working for the NDFB anti talks faction.According to army sources ,the arrested person admitted his role in extortion and kidnappings racket on behalf of NDFB 3rd Bn in the areas of Tangla, Paneri, Bhergaon & Dimakuchi. A country made pistol was also recovered from the individual. The individual has been handed over to Tangla police for further investigation.
