People in large number from Raha stagwed dharma in Dispur on Monday reiterating the demand to set up the proposed AIIMS in the area. Led by the Raha AIIMS Demand Committee, the protesters reached the capital city in the morning and started staging the dharna at Last Gate saying that they would remain calm only after the proposed AIIMS is set up in Raha. Talking to Assam Times, a protester said that they are well prepared to face any eventuality for the premier hospital in the central Assam place.

Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is facing no less ire after the HSLC faux pas where many examination centres received Assamese and social science question papers instead if mathematics. AASU leaders and activists in many places burnt Sarma’s effigy alleging his inability to smoothly conduct the examination at 855 centres.
