AJYCP strike on Monday

The move to auction 12 oil fields in Assam runs into a hail of state-wide protests. Announcing a slew of protest, the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad threatens to intensify protest if the Centre refuses to restraint by July 8. Talking to Assam Times, AJYCP leaders in Sivasagar said they are holding a 12-hour strike at the oil field in Sivasagar district on Monday. On Tuesday, the influential organization will further block the national Highway No 37 in protest against the controversial move of the Modi Government. On July 8, they would block the rails opposing the move.

The big question is when Public Sector companies like OIL and ONGC cannot make profit from these fields, how can Private Sector Parties can make profit. Are they superior to ONGC or OIL in in technology, equipments and manpower ?

Three held in coal trader attack case

DUDHNOI: Police on Sunday have arrested three persons a day after they allegedly shot at a coal trader in Jogighopa in Goalpara district on Saturday. More investment pouring in

GUWAHATI: In a major boost on the economic front of Assam, the state government inked as many as 176 initial agreements after prime minister Narendra Modi opened the global investment summit in Guwahati on Saturday.        The packs involving Rs65,186 crore were signed on behalf of 160 firms on the day one and most these investment would come for tea, health, hotel, telecom, oil and gas sectors. ONGC announced Rs13,000 crore investment while Oil India Ltd has promised Rs10,000 crore. Reliance ready to invest Rs 2,500 cr

RISHAB SAIKIA GUWAHATI: Reliance on Saturday promised a heft Rs 2500 crore investment in Assam in a number of sectors fetching huge hopes for nearly one lakh people in the premier north eastern state.  In his speech at the two days global investment summit in Guwahati on Satrday, Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani said he was keen to invest the entire amount in retail, petroleum, telecom, tourism and sports which would require huge manpower within the next three years. Modi opens global investment summit
