AJYCP strike on Monday

The move to auction 12 oil fields in Assam runs into a hail of state-wide protests. Announcing a slew of protest, the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad threatens to intensify protest if the Centre refuses to restraint by July 8. Talking to Assam Times, AJYCP leaders in Sivasagar said they are holding a 12-hour strike at the oil field in Sivasagar district on Monday. On Tuesday, the influential organization will further block the national Highway No 37 in protest against the controversial move of the Modi Government. On July 8, they would block the rails opposing the move.

The big question is when Public Sector companies like OIL and ONGC cannot make profit from these fields, how can Private Sector Parties can make profit. Are they superior to ONGC or OIL in in technology, equipments and manpower ?

Fresh trouble for Rio as NPP withdraws support

KOHIMA: Fresh trouble brews for Neiphu Rio a day before the swearing in ceremony. In a high voltage drama  on Wednesday evening National Peoples Party has withdrawn support to the NDPP led coalition. In a letter to governor PB Acharya, Nagaland NPP president Ato Yepthomi urged him not to consider the earlier letter of support since there was no consent from the party high command.NPP earlier promised with go with NDPP-BJP alliance with two of their MLAs. AMSU condemns BTAD violence

Kokrajhar: A delegation team of All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU)  led by its secretary Rejaul Karim Sarkar visited Safiur Rahman at RNB Civil Hospital a day after he sustained burn injury during BTAD bandh. Arms seized in Baksa, 2 quizzed

Kokrajhar: Despite counter insurgency operations, arms smuggling refuses to die down in BTAD areas. The Baksa police recovered two AK -47 riffles, live bullets and detained two-persons at Kataligaon near Mushalpur on Wednesday. Acting on a tip off, the police launched a search operation in  Kataligaon where two AK 47 riffles were  dug out from the residential complex of Arun Rachiary.The police recovered two magazines and several rounds of live bullets along with the rifle. KOHIMA: NDPP president Neiphu Rio is taking oath as new Nagaland Chief minister on Thursday. Governor PB Acharya is administering Rio and his council of ministers the oath of office secrecy at the Raj Bhawan where Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju along with several central leaders are expected to present. Acharya, in a letter to the chief minister designate to prove his majority on the floor on or before March 16.
