AJYCP strike on Monday

The move to auction 12 oil fields in Assam runs into a hail of state-wide protests. Announcing a slew of protest, the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad threatens to intensify protest if the Centre refuses to restraint by July 8. Talking to Assam Times, AJYCP leaders in Sivasagar said they are holding a 12-hour strike at the oil field in Sivasagar district on Monday. On Tuesday, the influential organization will further block the national Highway No 37 in protest against the controversial move of the Modi Government. On July 8, they would block the rails opposing the move.

The big question is when Public Sector companies like OIL and ONGC cannot make profit from these fields, how can Private Sector Parties can make profit. Are they superior to ONGC or OIL in in technology, equipments and manpower ?

Another ACS officer lands in trouble

GUWAHATI: Yet another ACS officer lands in dire trouble after the Assam Government has placed under suspension alleging her involvement in the nefarious APSC scam. She is none other than Avishika Baruah, the circle officer in Nazira whose involvement in the scam came to light a couple of months after she appeared her handwritten test conducted by the special operation unit of Dibrugarh police who have been probing the case. Bodos hit the streets in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Hundreds of people from BTAD areas hit the streets in New Delhi on Monday reiterating the separate  Bodoland demand. Assam-Mizoram meeting in Delhi on Tuesday

 NEW DELHI: The Centre is holding a chief secretary level meeting in Delhi to mend the widening fences between Assam and Mizoram on March 20.   Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba will chair meeting to settle the boundary dispute between the two north eastern states in the wake of protests by students. Assam village ready to move Meghalaya
