Yoga Day celebrates in Kokrajhar

Despite heavy rain since early morning, peoples from all walks of life throng to participate in the Second International Yoga Day celebration in Kokrajhar, heart of BTAD administration, was celebrated with befitting manner along with rest of the world and country on Tuesday. Participant and yoga fans express their gratitude for getting Yoga opportunity on the day. Assam Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma, lighted the lamp to inaugurate the Yoga Day celebration at KDSA Indoor stadium, being organized by Kokrajhar district administration in association with Patanjali Yoga Samiti in the presence of Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar DC, LR Bishnoi,ADGP, SP Shyamal Prasad Saikia and other officials. Thousands yoga fan and people from all walks of life including elderly persons, women, and children participated and performed yoga on the day aiming good health and social integration. In separate celebration at Rashmela ground, Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar DC inaugurated the day with lighting the lamp in the early morning, which was organized by BANDHU, a NGO working for social development among society. In Commerce College, Yoga Day was celebrated, organized by Art of Living and yoga fans and citizens participated. Minister Brahma said that Yoga is very much essential for human life to get strong health living and free from diseases. She has extended her best wished to all participant and citizens on the International Yoga Day celebration.

‘It is a day for common peoples to getting opportunity for yoga among society across the world. We must have yoga habit to make our health and physical to be free from diseases and strong health. I think, people would be benefitted through this yoga camp which was being celebrated across the world today’, Brahma said. Sarma said that the day was celebrated with befitting manner in the district and peoples from all walks of life participated with enthusiastic. We have organized the day centrally at KDSA Indoor stadium and arranged full prepared to mark celebration a grand success.

LR Bishnoi, ADGP and IGP (BTAD) and Shyamal Prasad Saikia,SP Kokrajhar while participating the celebration at KDSA stadium extended their best wishes on the occasion and hope that the day will bring awareness about building of strong health and integrated feeling in the region.

‘Let, it be celebrated across the world through which human life getting awareness about building integrated health care and social uplift in days to coming’, Bishnoi said.

Hiteswar Barman, president of AKRSU while taking part in the celebration at Rashmela ground said that Yoga is an essential part of life through which human life can gain strong health care. He said, ‘It is an opportunity to be part of the day celebration in Kokrajhar where thousands yoga fans thronged and performed yoga on the day’, Barman said.

‘We are getting knowledge tips through the international day celebration to keep our health strength through performing Yoga. Citizens much follow yoga tips every day to make human life strong and tiptop’, he added.

KOKRAJHAR: Around 487 persons are being kept in the six quarantine centres set up in Kokrajhar district under strict observation with proper medical check up.
