Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) signed two MoUs with two UK based institutions namely ISDC (International Skill Development Corporation) who work in conjunction with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) to offer ACCA certifications in India.
“With this MoU, ADBU has become the only Institution in Assam with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) certification programme i.e. B.Com (Professional) in International Accounting and Finance with the UK based firm,” says Head of Business Relations ACCA Mr Kush Ahuja.
Mr Ahuja explains, “ACCA is the global body for professional accountants with over 178,000 members and 455,000 students in 181 countries. We have 92 offices and centres globally all offering localized support based on international accounting standards making them globally relevant.”
“ACCA qualifications are recognised by key regulatory and education authorities around the world and we have joint membership of other international accountancy bodies,” adds ISDC Director- Strategy Mr Joseph Tom.
Vice –Chancellor Dr Stephen Mavely explains further saying, “The MOUs will set in motion our plan to offer a B Com in International Finance and Accounting (with or without the benefit of additional certification by ACCA who offer exemption of 6 papers for our students who pay for and opt for acquiring ACCA Certification). The students who opt for such certification will have to pay additional fees as well as appear for 8 more papers of ACCA Certification Programme.”
From this autumn 2016, ADBU is offering B. Com and M.Com integrated programme as well as B.Com honours.

In a keenly contested environmental energy efficiency project presentation a college in the Darjeeling hills is among four selected out of 22 applicants for the Residential Environments Project (known as RESIDE).
