Awareness meet on fake currency

A workshop cum awraeness programme was organised on FICN by 16th bn SSB Ranighuli on Thursday at Ranighuli in Kokrajhar district. Rakesh Chetia, Assistant Manager , SBI Branch Kokrajhar presented awareness tips on the day. AKC Singh, Commandant of SSB 16th Bn has emphasized on the importance of the imparting such workshop for SSB personnel who deployed for guarding thousands of kms International border with Bhutan and Nepal. Further, Singh added that one of the foremost challenge for SSB is to stop the Smuggling of FICN around Bordering areas, and this is only possible if a SSB Jawan is able to differentiate between the fake and genuine currency. Singh adding said that it is also very important to motivate and aware bordering population about the fake Indian currencies as these people are soft target and smugglers can use these people for their self benefits.

Chetia , SBI Kokrajhar official, conveyed that the cases of FICN are on rise year by year, and emerging as biggest threat for Indian economy. During his presentation, he made aware about the various specification of genuine currencies which makes it different from fake one and a person can easily identify between both, if he is aware if these specifications. Officers, officials of all BOPs under 16th bn SSB attended the said workshop with full zeal and spirit.

The re-polling to the No.24 polling station at Kachugaon LP school(right side) under 28-Gosaigaon LAC in Kokrajhar district has not been scheduled yet,but expecting that it would be held after Bihu.
