Scribe shot at in ultra attack

In yet another attack on media, suspected NDBF(S) militants shot a journalist in their captivity in Udalguri district sending shock and anger across the state.

The incident took place on Saturday wee hours when the ultras forcibly took away local correspondent of a vernacular daily Prasanta Kumar to an undisclosed locations to be shot at after inflicting torture in their captivity. 

They charged Kumar with writing against the outfit. 

A seriously injured Kumar 

managed to go to a nearby house for help.

The local residents rushed him to hospital before being shifted to the Gauhati Medical College.
