The Ona Bodo Surakhsha Samiti’s demand and ultimatum to the supporters of “Bodoland” to stop using the term on public transport systems, public and private walls, slogans, government offices and other places to ended Monday 25.
Bodoland activist in an attempt to protest the Ona Bodo Surakhsha Samiti’s stand pasted posters carrying slogans that read like "Bodoland is our birthright, We love Bodoland”, “We respect the demand for Bodoland, “We love the word Bodoland” and “No one has right to erase the word Bodoland”, in several prominent places of Kokrajhar and its adjoining areas.
Speaking to Assam Times a Bodoland transports serviceman said that activists pasted posters late last night in support of the use of the term “Bodoland” thereby aspiring the creation of a Bodoland. He on conditions of anonymity termed the Ona Boro Samiti’s demand as unconstitutional and inappropriate to the spirit of the Bodo people’s right to autonomy.
So far there has been no reaction on the issue by the Ona Bodo Surakhsha Samiti.
