UPP's candidate list rises to 11

With just few weeks left for the Assembly elections, various political parties and candidates including United Peoples Party are busy with activities in reaching out to the public for support.

The United People’s Party (UPP) activists and supoorters welcome party candidature of 29-Kokrajhar West LAC Urkhao Gwra Brahma and 30-Kokrajhar East LAC Pratibha Brahma at a ceremony programme held at Mwiderkhoro on Monday in Kokrajhar district.

The party has announced another name for the party candidature. Chandi Basumatary was named as the party candidature from Tamulpur LAC, UPP resident Urkhao Gwra Brahma announced Basumatary’s name as party candidate, bringing the total candidates to 11 so far. Yesterday, the party  announced candidates name from 10 constituencies it is fielding candidates for the Assembly election.

Speaking the reporters UG Brahma expressed confidence of winning in alteast 8 seats of the 12 constituencies in BTAD and few more outside. Terming the BJP as anti-establishment, he said the BJP wanted change in the state but tied up with the BPF in the BTC knowingly fully well that the BPF is indulged in huge corruption.

He also come heavily on the ruling Bodoland People’s Front(BPF) in the BTC of indulging in huge corruption and siphoning of development funds. 

‘If there is investigation in the IAY, job cards etc, BTC will be the largest scandal ever. There is no complete audit in any of the projects and Central special package well as the DRDA', he said.

‘The UPP is committed to unearth the hidden secrets of rampant corruption in all sectors of rural development like IAY, job cards, MGNREFA, roads, tourism, agriculture, education and others and bring about public awareness to check them for the public interests', he said.

Party vice president and candidature for Kokrajhar east LAC Pratibha Brahma said, she is committed to work for the development of the constituency in all respect. 

'Peoples of the region wanting change of society with deep dedication and social uplift through which human resource development could be grown up', Brahma said adding that irrespective of communities are favoring to vote for the party to meet good governance and healthy integration.
