BPF prepares for polls

The Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF), ruling party in BTAD has expressed its fully prepared ahead three months left to the ensuing assembly election in the state.

BPF party leader and members today welcome Rabiram Narzary and his party leaders,whose BPPF party recently merged up with BPF party at a party meeting at BPF office in Kkrajhar in the presence of senior party leaders.

Former minister,Kokrajhar east MLA and party vice president Pramila Rani Brahma said that her party has fully prepared to contest the election as party has been now waiting the announcement of the date scheduled.

‘We have fully prepared our preparations as party has declared its candidates for the election.We have also prepared to organised mass gathering in all constituencies where party is contesting”,Brahma said.

Brahma has claimed that her party is winning in all the contested seats and government would be formed under party support at Dispur.

The party has decided to hold mass gathering on January 28 at Aminkata for Gossaigaon constituency,January 29 at Dotma Balanga for Kokrajhar west constituency,January 30 at Gauripur for Gauripur constituency, February 10 at Kokrajhar for Kokrajhar east constituency,besides dates have been scheduled gathering at Udalguri and Mazbat on February 1 and 2 respectively were party president Hagrama Mohilary will address.

Rabiram Narzary said that he is contesting the Kokrajhar west seat ad his candidature is winning as common publics are favouring for him.

“There is no any doubt of his winning from the seat as he was declared as party nomination to contest the election.He and his party has now fully prepared for the election”,he said.

MLA Majendra Narzary,BTC executive member Rajib Brahma,Mrithunjay Narzary, ex-BTC executive members Derhasat Basumatary,Reoreoa Narzihary were among others prominent attendees on the meeting.

Security forces have intensified their combing operation against militant outfits in the region.  Three link men/over ground worker of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction were apprehended by security forces in a joint operation at Ripu Reserve Forest on Sunday morning in Kokrajhar district. Over 15 shops along the Fakiragram main Bazar in Lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district have turned into ashes.  The fire damaged worth of nearly 50 lakhs properties following fire in gutted on Friday late night. A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel. A live fire fighting exercise was carried out alongside the drill by Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
