KNLF area commander apprehended
A hardcore KNLF area commander was arrested on 19th June from Fangsu village of Dolamora under Shantipur Police Station, in Karbi Anglong district, by a joint team of 11 Maratha Regiment and Assam Police. According to the sources a joint team of Bagori based 11 Maratha Regiment of Indian Army and Kohora Police working on a secret information launched a combing operation in Dolamora Bazar and its adjoining villages. During the search operation the joint team of Army and Police arrested the Dolamora coordinator cum commandant of the Karbi extremist outfit KNLF, Mr. Willteron Langthe, from Fangsu village. The security personnel also recovered a Chinese made 9 MM Pistol along with 7 round of cartridges, a money collection receipt book and a diary. Talking to the media persons the arrested commander told that he has joined KNLF six years ago and after that he took training in Sinhasan Moutain along with other twenty cadres of the organization. It is to be mention here that fourteen innocent Hindi speaking people were killed in Dolamora last year in indiscriminate firing by the extremist group.
