Craft bazaar got underway in Kokrajhar
Over 100 artisans from various states of the country participated in the Craft Bazaar 2015-16, Kokrajhar which has begun here at Rashmela ground with 10-days programme in Kokrajhar today.
Former Minister and MLA Pramila Rani Brahma lighted the lamp to inaugurate the bazaar attending as chief guest in the presence of artisans and officials.
In her speech Brahma said that the handicraft tradition can extend helping hand to earn livelihood among citizens. She has urged the artisans to be dedicated while producing of handicraft products in their life and earn more money among society.
NN Rana Patgiri, managing director of Brawfed said that the federation has been organizing craft bazaar and expo across the country where traditional habdloom production and handicrafts are getting exposure. He said that the federation was working to grow more products in the country.
The opening session was chaired by Binod Narzary, chairman of BRAWFED.

The bazaar was organized by BRAWFED where participants from various states like host Bodoland, Assam, West Bengal, Punjab, Manipur, Nagaland, James & Kashmir participated.

The Manas National Park opens up for tourists on Saturday. Bodoland Territorial Council Deputy Chief Executive Khampha Borgoyari opened the national park at a brief function at the Second Gate of Bahbari Range in the morning.More than 100 foreign tourists along with many other visitors were present in the function who later toured the national park which has been remaining closed the during monsoon season. It opens a bit earlier than the previous years.
