An interactive session with central SFAC from New Delhi was held at BTC secretariat, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Saturday. Agriculture officials participated and shared about more production of agricultural aspects and all round development of farmers.
Dr D Bhuyan, director (projects), SFAC, New Delhi graced as chief guest on the occasion, chaired by Ansumwi Khunggur Boro, BTC executive member for Agriculture department.
Dr Bhuyan said that the session discussed thoroughly to develop broad base agricultural activities in the council region as a nodal agency under the latest policy of directions of the Agriculture department, Ministry of Agriculture & Cooperation, Govt of India using Sixth Scheduled facilities. He also said that the need of farmer producers organisations (FPO) to strength of farmers production and marketing to get optimal returns in their crops.
He has opined that BTC has a potential of more crops as land for the production is very suited and attractive to product huge vegetable crops, he said.
Ansumwi Khunggur Boro said that Agriculture department was working for the more productions of crops to fulfill peoples needy and expectations. He said that council has been targetting strong upliftment of farmers welfare and gaining of their encouragements in the region.
Boro has also urged the state govt to procure of locally made Potato seeds which are available in the council districts.
Dr DN Mahanta, adviser to Agriculture of BTC, Santos Kumar Das, field officer, SFAC Guwahati among others were prominent present in the session.
