Adivasi Mahasabha to starts from Oct 4

A hectic preparation is in full swing to host 12th Adivasi Mahasabha with three days colourful programme scheduled at Magurmari High School ground from October 2 next in Kokrajhar district. 

Stephen Lakra, working president of the Reception Committee of the Mahasabha told that the Mahasabha has been organising to uplift social, literary and community integration of the Adivasi in Assam as well across the country. 

Over 2000 delegates from various districts of Assam are participating in the grand function, besides 50,000 people's thronged has been expected on the open session of the Mahasabha. The reception committee has engaged 150 volunteers to serve the Mahasabha to market a grand successful which is the biggest function of the Adivasi community in the state

Dr Rameswar Oraon, chairman National Commission for Scheduled Tribes will grace as chief guest, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has consented to grace as inaugurator on the open session on October 4, Lakra said.

According to police source,a plastic polytin with packet of two Diwali pataka was notice along the Vivekananda path near Bhai Bhai hotel this afternoon around 12.15 pm and peoples become panicked following the incident. The Peoples’ Coordination for Democratic Rights(PCDR),a umbrella organsation of various communities today announced more six names in the second list for the ensuing BTC elections likely to be held in first week of April next.
