Adivasi Mahasabha to starts from Oct 4

A hectic preparation is in full swing to host 12th Adivasi Mahasabha with three days colourful programme scheduled at Magurmari High School ground from October 2 next in Kokrajhar district. 

Stephen Lakra, working president of the Reception Committee of the Mahasabha told that the Mahasabha has been organising to uplift social, literary and community integration of the Adivasi in Assam as well across the country. 

Over 2000 delegates from various districts of Assam are participating in the grand function, besides 50,000 people's thronged has been expected on the open session of the Mahasabha. The reception committee has engaged 150 volunteers to serve the Mahasabha to market a grand successful which is the biggest function of the Adivasi community in the state

Dr Rameswar Oraon, chairman National Commission for Scheduled Tribes will grace as chief guest, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has consented to grace as inaugurator on the open session on October 4, Lakra said.

Two hardcore cadre of NSLA were arrested from Neplapara area under Gossaigaon police station late alst night in Kokrajhar dsitrict. Shukanjhora sports club defeated Fakiragram Maibong club and lifted trophy of friendly match of volleyball held at Fakiragram on Saturday in Kokrajhar. The match was organised by VDP to create healthy integration among various communities in the area. Shukanjhora defeated Fakiragram by 2-1 sets and lifted the trophy. Kokrajhar DC Thaneswar Malakar graced the prize distribution chief guest and gave away winner trophy and PK Bhagawati, ADC gave away the runners up trophy . Altogether 18 students were expelled from examination in Kokrajhar district for unfair means on the first day with English subject of HSLC and High Madrasa examination which started from Thursday.As many as 16 students were expelled from Silbari High School centre and two students from Kokrajhar Govt.HS & MP School centre for taking unfair means in the examination.A total of 15,148 students were participated in 28 centres in the district and the examination was passed of peaceful on its first day.Various organisation and parties including ABSU,AASU,ABMSU,AASAA extended greetings to the students who are participating the final examination.
