Naga girls facing Delhi

Nagaland Under-17 girls will play with Delhi a day after they thrashed Gujarat a whooping 13-0 goals at the Subroto Mukerjee football cup at Delhi on Tuesday. The Indira Gandhi Stadium Sports Academy Football Girls team on Monday was given walkover as the Sri Lankan team failed to turn up for the match.

The goal scorers were Neichutuo-ii netted five goals, Akhala booted home three goals, Lam netted two goals and one goal each were scored by Vizovonuo, Shangki and Abeino.

Swahid Divas observed at Nazira

In association with the sub divisional AASU Unit and its regional unit of Nazira, Sivsagar district student union centrally observed the swahid divas at Nazira with a day-long programme on Monday. In memory of 850 nos. martyers of Assamagitation same numbers earthen light were lightened. On this occation a cultural functions was also organised.

Police officer arrested for firing incident

A police officer was arrested in Morigaon district on Sunday after his vehicle collided with another car and he fired at the crowd which gathered at the spot.

According to information, Bhaktiram Kakoty, a circle inspector, was caught by the public at Moirabari town in the afternoon after his car crashed into another vehicle.

Kakoty then fired into the crowd before he was overpowered by the public and handed over to the police.

Jyoti-Rabha sangeet workshop concludes

A 5-day-long Jyoti Rabha sangeet workshop concluded in Namrup Sahitya Sabha auditorium  on Sunday. The workshop is organised by Swargam Kala Niketan Namrup in synchronisation with Dibrugarh District Cultural Centre. It was held in BVFCL HS school auditorium from July 25 in which around 75 students took part under guidance of Dimbeswar Das. The concluding session was attended by District Cultural officer Dr Pabitra Kumar Pegu  as a guest of honour.

The  Cultural programme is presided by Hiranya Hazarika principal of BVFCL HS school namrup by lighting the earthen lamp. Guest present in the programme were , Pranab Bhattacharjya (HR )of BVFCL Fertilizer corporation limited , Pradip Gogoi Secretary of Namrup Sahitya sabha, Rupali Mahanta Patgiri President of Samalaya kobi Chakra, Arati Sarmah President of Namrup Lekhika Samaruh, Neetu Sonowal chairman of Namrup Town committee  ,R.N. Tiwari Social worker  and BJP state executive Ranjit Boruah.
