Manechuli Hill near Choraikola in Kokrajhar is throbbing with festivities on Friday. Cultural demonstration stole the march on the day of Teej festival organized on the on the occasion of the Ganesh Chaturthi.
Hundreds of devotees thronged the temple to offer puja to the god. BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, Kokrajhar DC Madhav Prasad Sarma, BTC education director Rabisangkhor Borgoyari, Korajhar DSO Jaygyabati Mohilary were prominent among those who attended the occasion and offered puja to the Lord Ganesh.
The focal point of attraction was the cultural troupes from Nepali, Adivasi, Bodo apart from the group and dual dances which pulled huge crowd. Organizer Bajra Prasad Uppadhya said, “It is a festival of traditional belief socially and occasion of prayers so that society can get integration while maintaining peace and unity among various community.”
Uppadhya told Assam Times that this is the second festival held at the hill top of Manechuli Hill in ecological environment in the area where irrespective of caste, creed and landau are participating in huge crowd.
