Security forces claimed to have captured four dreaded militants along with an arms dealer in BTAD areas during the last 24 hours. According to army’s red horn division, three activists of the Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam have been arrested at Devattar Kopati in Kokrajhar district during a joint operation on Sunday wee hours. Three pistols and fake currency notes were seized from the militants before they could execute an extortion drive in the area. Apart from it, security forces caught a hardcore NDFB (Songbijit) militant at Shantipur Market in Chirang district on Sunday wee hours. They further seized a grenade, four 7.62 mm live rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone and one Bhutan SIM card were seized from him. Identified as Gaidang Narzary of Debadangi village in Chirang, he was allegedly involved in planning and kidnapping of Bhutan nationals and passing information about security forces to terrorists. This was followed by the arrest of an arms dealer from Oxaiguri in Kokrajhar district. Two country-made guns, a handmade pistol, 10 rounds of locally made ammunition and two crude bombs were seized from his possession.
