Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

Police apprehended a hardcore cadre of NDFB(Songbijit faction) this evening from Haltugaon Balajan under Kokrajhar police station in Kokrajhar. The cadres has been identified as Swmkhwr Basumatary.  A 7.65 point pistol,a grenade and bullets was recovered from him, said a police officer.

A body was recovered from Doladonda along India-Bhutan border this morning under Bijni police station in Chirang district. Rajib Ramchiary,25, was shot dead by unidentified miscreants this morning around 9 am at Alagjhar under Barama police station in Baksa district.
