Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

NDFB militant killed in encounter

In a fierce gun battle, a hardcore NDFB (S) cadre was killed at Auzar Guri under Serfanguri Police Station in Kokrajhar district today. He has been identified as Lakiprasad Basumatary @ B Laijam of Aflagaon (Singibili) in Kokrajhar district and 39th batch cadre of NDFB (S). Police sources said that three suspected NDFB (S) cadres came at Auzar Guri in a motor cycle where an encounter took place with the security forces. NDFB clarifies Parbatjhora killing

The National Democratic Front of Boroland(Songbijit faction) said that a hardcore member of NDFB(S) was killed and two others were apprehended in Parbatjhora subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Sunday in a joint operation of Police and Army was unfounded and fake. Militant killed, 2 others apprehended

A hardcore terrorist of NDFB (Songbijit faction) was killed and two others were apprehended in Parbatjhora subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Sunday in a joint operation by Army of Red Horns Division and Assam Police.  Based on tiptop information about presence of 5-6 NDFB terrorists near Gopaljhora village under Bagribari police station in Kokrajhar, Army camp Basbari launched a joint search operation in the area along with Kokrajhar police at 2.30 pm on Sunday when incessant fire from a jungle and saw 7-8 suspected terrorists running away. Man run over by train

A man was run over by train at West point of Kokrajhar railway station this noon in Kokrajhar. The body was run over by a down train this noon around 11.30 am which identified as Krishna Biswas(20) of  Magistrate Colony, ward no.9 in Kokrajhar town.Kokrajhar GRPF recovered the body in presence of magistrate and sent for postmortem,said a GRPF official.
