Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

Flood washes away villages at Patgaon

Floods washed villages and eroded at Patgaon Large numbers of villages,bundh and Mataori under Patgaon police outpost in Kokrajhar district today washed out and eroded by flash flood waters. Candle light rally

The Bodoland Students Union (BSU) took out a candle light rally at Kokrajhar town on Wednesday expressing solidarity to Priya Basumatary, who was killed by NDFB(S). The rally was started at BSU's office office at Tengapara. The students union condemning the killing, said that it was ashamed for society as students were also not spared by militants in the state. The union demanded strong and strict action against militants and ensure security to the common people.

Workshop on citizen journalism

A three-days workshop on citizen journalism begins at Bodofa House, Bagansali in Kokrajhar on Monday which is being organised by All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) in association with Assam Times Foundation. Over 30 participants from various parts of the district participating in the workshop. The workshop is being organised to train young people in the field of reporting and digital photography with so as to enable them to work as citizen journalist, said the organiser.

Full security for Priya's parents

Chirang district administration has assured security to the parent of Priya Basumatary,who was killed by NDFB(S)last week. Displeasure over fund allotment to BTC council

The Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) expressed displeasure over low fund allotment to the council from state share budgets as the council has been deprived from getting 12.19 percent as per population ratio. The council passed amounting of Rs 201668.55 lakhs(both plan and non-plan) for the year 2014-2015 in the council budget session which was concluded today with two day scheduled.
