Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

The Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) expressed displeasure over low fund allotment to the council from state share budgets as the council has been deprived from getting 12.19 percent as per population ratio. The council passed amounting of Rs 201668.55 lakhs(both plan and non-plan) for the year 2014-2015 in the council budget session which was concluded today with two day scheduled. Police claimed to have killed 5 NDFB(Songbijit) militants at an encounter in Chirang district on Wednesday. The encounter took place with a joint police and army team in in morning  inside a dense jungle of Laimuti under Runikhata police station. Police further seized an AK series rifle, five pistols, six magazines, five grenades, 60 rounds of ammunition and Rs 1 lakh in cash were recovered from the spot.
