Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

Body found

A bullet ridden body of  NDFB(Ranjan Daimary) cadre identified as Ripunjay Narzary(18) of Dhumbazar village was recovered from Alaijhar under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district this morning. Police said the local informed the police about a body lying in the area. The body with hand tied in the back bore injury mark in the chest.   Police suspects the hand of its splinter group Songbijit faction behind the killing.  

Peace meeting

An all party peace meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner conference hall in Korajhar today to discuss on the prevailing law and order situation and other issues pertaining to the district. ABSU felicitates toppers

The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU), Kokrajhar district unit felicitated the toppers and first division holder students in Bodo medium in recent declared HSLC examination at a function held at Bodofa House on Tuesday in Kokrajhar. NDFB cadre beaten to death

A suspected NDFB cadre (Ranjan Daimary faction) was beaten to death by public mob today at Bagargaon under Bijni police station in Chirang when he was coming to take extortion demand money. Acording to source,NDFB cadre come with a Pulsar bike to take extortion demand money from a Kalamuddin Sheik at Bagargaon village this afternoon around 1.30 pm while villagers gheraoed him and beaten to death.The mob has also set blazed the bike. Sources claimed that the cadre was identified himself as Pranjit Boro while demanded Rs. 5 lakh from a person in a mobile call.  

Results suggest bright future in BTAD

The percentage of HSLC and HS successful candidates in BTAD districts seems to have suggested a brighter future. In Kokrajhar district, over all pass percentage in Arts stream is 65 %, Science 82 % and commerce 49.6% percent respectively. A total of 7,116 have appeared out of which 4,660 students came out successful in arts stream. In science stream 446 passed out of 542 appeared students and 125 out of 252 appeared students passed in Commerce streams. Free medical camp

A free health check-up camp was organized by MRM Memorial Hospital, a private managed hospital at Debargaon community hall on Sunday in Kokrajhar.
