Magistarial inquiry into Chirang encounter
The Chirang district magistrate Rupak Kumar Mazumdar has ordered a magisterial enquiry into the encounter incident that took place on July 21 last at Bagansali village under Amguri PS in Chirang district where Ringsar Basumatary @ Gaitha, son of Pithar Basumatary of Rangijhora village, an NDFB (S) cadre was reportedly killed in exchange of fire between security forces and militant.
Bijni sub-divisional magistrate Oinam Sarankumar Singh has been asked to conduct the inquiry as per the latest guidelines of NHRC and submit its report within September 29 next .The next kin of the deceased, eye witnesses and leaderships of the social organisations having information into the cicumstances leading to the encounter or death have been requested to furnish evidence, affidavits or documents to the Inquiry Officer during office hour at his Bijni SDO(C) office within September 29.
