Resentment over tickets for Panery LAC

With just a couple of days left for the upcoming assembly elections in Assam, the ticket aspirants of Congress, BJP have started campaigning by pasting banners, hoardings and by organizing meetings in Tangla and its neighboring areas under 64 No. Panery constituency for showing their strength as candidates.

Interestingly for the 64 No. Panery constituency seat, four candidates are seeking tickets from Congress. The candidate who is most probably to be the candidate is ex-AGP firebrand leader Durga Das Boro,Dhaneswar Boro, ATASU leader Rafael Kujur and Simon Kujur. On the other hand , social activist Bikon Deka,Binod Rabha and Amal Swargiary are seeking ticket from BJP for the constituency. They have been organizing many meetings in public places aimed at winning the seat from BPF MLA Kamali Basumatari who has already been chosen by BPF as their MLA candidate.

The newly-formed United People’s Party (UPP) backed by All Bodo Students Union has decided to poll Nandaram Boro as their candidate for the constituency. It may be mentioned that this the third tenure of Basumatari as MLA from the constituency.
