NTPC felicitates women trainees

The Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project(BTPP) felicitated participants of the Beautician training and Stitching and Tailoring course under the scheme of CSR at a programme held at BTPP project,Salakati on Monday in Kokrajhar.

A total of 19 training holders, 16 participants of the Beautician and 3 for the Stitching and Tailoring course were given training on their scheduled course. The 45 days training on Beautician course and 90 days training for Stitching and Tailoring course was imparted to the women of the local community by the BardwiShikla Ladies Club in collaboration with SEWA, Mirzapur. The three participants, who performed exceedingly well in the exams conducted for the Stitching and Tailoring course were each given a sewing machine. All the 16 participants of the Beautician course were felicitated with a beauty kit.

Utpal Chakrabarti, GGM, NTPC Bongaigaon, NandiniChakrabarti, president Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club along with other senior officials and Office Bearers of the club were present on the occasion.

Chakrabarti stated that such endeavors will help to better empower the women of the community and help them to become self-dependent. The felicitation was organized on the second day of the Ananda Mela at NTPC Bongaigaon.
