Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma’s entry into BJP will put the people in utter confusion over the chief ministerial candidate.
Hours after Dr Sarma unofficially joined BJP, Gogoi said that if Sarma is made the chief ministerial candidate then what is in store for Sarbananda Sonowal and Siddharth Bhattacharya.
Talking to reports Gogoi wondered why and how Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma joined BJP a day after he was proud of his party’s victory in the Tiwa autonomous council polls.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has received a PIL challenging Himanta Biswa Sarma as the Badminton Association of India chairman.In his PIL, Kamalesh Verma said the appointment of the senior BJP leader and cabinet minister in the Sarbanabda Sonowal government is a clear violation of the apex court order against appointment of minister or civil service in the vital sports body. Verma further said Sarma has no connection with sports and that there are graft charges against him.
