The Centre and Delhi government are expected to file reports on the sensational killing of Nido Tania before the Delhi High Court on Wednesday.Acting on a suo moto case, the high court on Monday asked the Centre, Delhi Government to file affidavit on the recent dreaded attack on Nido Tania where the victim died. Police have so far arrested six perpetrators during the last 24 hours. Three were remanded to judicial custody while two others would be produced before a local court on Wednesday.

Suspected NDFB-S militants unleashed a reign of terror in Chirang district when they kidnapped a businessman from Runikhata on Tuesday.Sources told Assam Times that identified as Anup Das, the 40 year old businessman was kidnapped at gunpoint from his residence in the afternoon.Search operation is in progress to trace out him. Delhi police on Tuesday arrested two more miscreants involved in the killing of Nido Tania hours after Union home minister assured north east students of firm action against the perpetrators.But the main culprit is still on the run. Earlier on Tuesday, three others were sent to the jail day after the trio were held in connection with the lyncing of the Arunachal Pradesh student.
A local court in New Delhi on Tuesday sent the three miscreants accused in the murder of Nido Tania to jail hardly 24 hours after they were arrested.But that’s not all. The north east students in the capital demand CBI probe into the allegations of police lapse. The student delegation told Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde to institute a judicial probe into the allegations against the policemen on the spot.  
The Opposition Asom Gana Parishad on Tuesday moved state election commission alleging gross violation of constitution by two Congress leaders in the run up to the Rajya Sabha polls.The regional party in its complaint has accused chief minister Tarun Gogoi and his education minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma of violating the constitution to ensure smooth sailing of the BPF candidate Biswajeet Daimary in the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls.
