Chopper wreckage found in Thinsa

The wreckage of the Pawan Hans helicopter Tirap Deputy Commissioner Kamalesh Joshi was found at a remote area of Arunachal Pradesh where it crash landed on Tuesday.

The rescue operation made with three choppers along with a Sukhoi Jet locate the wreckage at Thinsa in the wee hours tracing a phone calls from Joshi to his wife at 2-10 in the afternoon. Senior officials arrived in the crash site and recovered the decomposed bodies in the morning.

The chopper went missing on Tuesday on its way to Khunsa from Longding. The last contact was established at 11-30 with Mohanbari airport. Initially, the search operation was concentrated at an area near Dalom where a section of local residents claimed to have heard the sound of a huge explosion in the sky.

But rescuers failed to trace it even after deployment of a Sukhoi Jet along with three other helicopters during the last six days.

Guwahati : Assam chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had a stock taking video conference with all district authorities in the time of COVID-19. Guwahati: The Indian Medical Association has strongly criticized the COVID19 care and management in Assam and suggested the government to formulate measures taking the medical experts into confidence. There is no let up in the inferno at gas well in Baghjan which caught fire on Tuesday after ten days of blow out.  Around 1600 families in 1.5 km radius have been camping at safe distance and most of them alleged to have lost their houses in the inferno. TINSUKIA: Two fire fighters died as they were trying to douse a huge inferno at a gas well in Tinsukia district on Tuesday even as the fury continues to spread out of control sending statewide shock and anger. Guwahati: Dhritiraj Bastav Kalita from Barampur Jatiya Vidyalaya, a private school stole the show in the HSLC examination, 2020 conducted by the Secondary Board Education, Assam in February.
