Jorhat trader shot dead in Dimapur

After a brief halt, Dimapur again hits media headlines for wrong reasons for yet another bizarre incident where miscreants shot dead a trader from Jorhat in broad day light on Sunday.  

The incident took place at around 1 in the afternoon at Shyam Bazar the commercial hub of Nagaland when four miscreants caught the saw mill owner Ashis Saha and asked him to board on their vehicle.

A sudden altercation took place when the trader refused to board on the vehicle. Then the miscreants sprayed several rounds of bullets at him from a point blank range and disappeared from the spot.

Saha was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. Search is on to nab the culprits. Initial investigation has yet to ascertain the reason behind the incident that sends shock and anger across the north eastern region.

The shoot out a assumes significance three months after an irate mob lynched a rape accused in public place after dragging him out of the Dimapur Central Jail.
