Gamlin joins as Delhi chief secy

Despite stiff resistance from Arvind Kejriwal and his lobby senior IAS officer from Assam Shakuntala Gamlin took over as Delhi chief secretery. 

Shakuntala, the daughter of former minister Lalit Doley and wife of former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Jarbom Gamlin has alleged intimidation by a section of bureacrates not to take over. 

He was Lt Governor Jung who appointed her in the top post defying the chief minister's opposition who calls her corrupt.

Congratulation Ms S Gamlin. WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT YOU PLEASE FOCUS ON ISSUES LIKE THE EXTRA ORDINARY NUMBER OF RAPES TAKING PLACE IN NCR. The Union Home Ministry in one year service , has failed to STOP this Horrible CRIME AGAINST Ordinary Citizen of NCR. WE hope and pray you give a "NEW DELHI" FREE of Rape CRIMES in less than 6 months. THE BJP Home Ministry has let us down several time with the multiple rape incidence. Bodies arriving

The bodies of the 7 women who died in Nepal tremor are set to arrive Delhi on Tuesday. An IAF carrying the lifeless women from the state is expected to land Delhi inthe afternoon. Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal will receive the bodies. After post mortem at AIIMS, the government would send the bodies to their homes. 

KPLT leader killed in encounter

5 injured reach Delhi

 Five people from Assam who sustained injury in Nepal tremor have been undergoing treatment in Delhi. An IAF plane carrying them along with many others arrived in Delhi on Monday evening. They would be released only after complete recovery. 

Speaker Gogoi to attend GPC program

Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Pranab Kumar Gogoi will attend the next ‘Guest of the Month’ program of Guwahati Press Club (GPC) on 29 April 2015. The interactive program will begin at 11.30 am and may continue till 1.30 pm. The veteran Congress leader is expected to speak on various burning issues relating to the State. Born in Sivsagar, Speaker Gogoi was involved with the Youth Congress since his early days. Time for relief and rescue

Assam steps up relief and rescue operations in Nepal after the ravaging earthquake visited the Himalayan kingdom on Saturday. Nearly 100 people from the state are looking for their near and dear ones who are traceless. As many as 15 people people from the state have been shifted to Delhi while some others are being shifted on Monday. An additional DGP is leaving for Kathmandu to oversee rescue relief and rescue of Assamese people in Nepal. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi who is on Australia visit is in close touch with the officials who are dealing with the situation.

No trace of Assamese family

Five members of a family from Assam have been remaining traceless 48 hours after massive quake rattled on Saturday. Hailing from Dergaon in Golaghat district the family members had been running a business in Kathmandu. From Saturday the entire family has been remaining traceless. Repeated efforts to contact them proved failure. 

4 bodies from Assam found

Four women died in the Nepal tremor on Saturday. The bodies are being kept at the hospital morgue. Names are expected to be announced at anytime. Chief ministe Tarun Gogoi asked ADGP Umesh Kumar to visit Kathmandu to ensure safe rescue.

12 Assamese safely return

Altogether 12 people from Assam have safely landed in Delhi from Nepal a day after a massive earthquake struck the Himalayan kingdom. The authorities who are intensifying relief and rescue operation took them to Delhi along with 300 others on Sunday. All they are lodging at a huge hotel. Efforts are on to rescue the remaing others.

BJP sounds poll bugle

Assam BJP sounds poll at a huge rally in presence of party president Amit Shah in Guwahati on Sunday. In his address at the Veterinary Playground, Shah urged the people to make the state Congress free. He further claimed to have done away with scam with the last 10 months.
