VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

5 militants held in BTAD areas

Security forces claimed to have captured four dreaded militants along with an arms dealer in BTAD areas during the last 24 hours. According to army’s red horn division, three activists of the Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam have been arrested at Devattar Kopati in Kokrajhar district during a joint operation on Sunday wee hours. Three pistols and fake currency notes were seized from the militants before they could execute an extortion drive in the area. Borgoyary opposes APFP withdrawal

The Bodoland Territorial Council is unhappy with Rockybul Hussain after the forest minister withdrew the AFPF forces from BTAD areas following the Ultapani incident where suspected NDFB-S militants took away arms from the forces at gunpoint.Speaking to reporters in Kokrajhar on Tuesday, BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyari said that the government has withdrawn AFPF without any intimation. “Rather the government should have engaged more forces for protection and conservation purpose,” said Borgoyari.He further asked NDFB(Songbijit faction) to return the arms they snatched from the eco task force in Ultapani for the greater interest of protection of forest and wildlife in the Bodoland region.

Witch-hunting rattles Kokrajhar; 2 killed

Yet another witch-hunting incident sends no less shock and anger across the state where villagers in Kokrajhar district killed a couple on Monday wee hours. Police, however, arrested three persons in this connection. Trust volunteers kidnapped

Miscreants are back in Kokrajhar district to monger trouble. Unidentified miscreants are believed to have kidnapped two volunteers of Lutheran World Service India Trust (LWSIT) in the district on Sunday.Known as Sabaikhor Muchahary of Patgaon and Tapan Khan, the trio went missing Patgaon Kausi Bazar area under Serfanguri police station in Kokrajhar district since Saturday.According to the trust management, the incident took place when the duo visited the area to take stock of the project under construction at Patgaon on Saturday. NDFB militant held in Bijni

Despite heavy presence of security forces, a section of armed NDFB-S militants been moving without any hindrance in BTAD areas.Security forces apprehended a hardcore cadre of NDFB(Songbijit) militant during a combing operation in Chirang district on Saturday.  Identified as Heramba Brahma, he was held from Ulubari area under Bijni police station with arms. These include a Chinese pistol, bullets and a magazine.   

KLO leader killed in Kokrajhar

Police on Saturday claimed to have killed a top KLO leader at an encounter in Kokrajhar on Saturday.Identified as Samar Ray alias Rambo, the Kokrajhar district commander was killed in the gunfight at Seshapani area under Kokrajhar police station in the afternoon. Daimary arrest politically motivated!

Is there any politics behind the arrest of Ranjan Daimary? Is it a political conspiracy? Its absolutely correct if NDFB is to be believed. The outfit on Saturday said that Daimary’s rearrest was nothing but a political conspiracy which was why despite government affidavit raising no objection to bail, the NDFB boss was denied bail by the TADA court.
