VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

Three injured in grenade blast

At least three persons sustained injured including two woman following five grenade serially lobbed by unidentified miscreants, of which two exploded at Patgaon Labrabati along 31( C) National Highway on Monday evening in Kokrajhar district.Unidentified miscreants exploded twin greandes at around 7 pm at Patgaon near Labrabati Hotel along National Highway under Patgaon police outpost in Kokrajhar district where three persons including two woman received injuries. Hurdle in ST status for 6 communities

 The move for ST status to six communities is set to hit a major road block with a circle of tribal organization leaders deciding to oppose it tooth and nail. 2 NDFB(S) militants killed in Chirang

Security forces claimed to have killed 2 NDFB-S militants at an encounter during the rescue operation of a businessman along the Kokrajhar-Chirang inter district border on Sunday. The encounter took place in the morning at Cheleka Bazar Gwjwnpuri area in Runikhata bordering Chirang district. Police told Assam Times that acting on a tip off, a joint team from the army and police commandos carried out an operation inside the Chirang reserve forest where the encounter took place. NDFB-S militants exploded a powerful grenade in Chirang hours after two militants were killed at an encounter on Sunday. What ails fair price shops

The fair price shop dealers in the BTAD areas are worried over the suspension of sugar supply across the state. They further have expressed concern over lack of facilities for the fair shop owners.
